Melt butter in a large pot over medium-high heat, stirring frequently. Stir in sugar. Once butter and sugar melts, cook for 10 minutes or until color turns from pale yellow to light brown.
If you have a candy thermometer, check that your butter and sugar mixture reaches at least 285 degrees. If not, the toffee consistency won’t be correct and it will be gooey rather than hard.
Stir in vanilla extract and salt. Pour the butter/sugar immediately into a parchment lined 9x11 inch baking pan.
Sprinkle chocolate chips over the top of the warm butter/sugar mixture. Wait 5 minutes, then spread out chocolate for a smooth layer.
Sprinkle with Oreos, chocolate chips, M&M’s, pretzels, and sprinkles.
